Job Summary Embark on an exciting journey as a Pet Grooming Apprentice, where you'll gain hands-on experience in the art of pet grooming and animal care. This paid apprenticeship offers a dynamic environment to develop your skills in pet coat styling, animal handling, and customer service while working alongside experienced groomers and veterinary professionals. If you're passionate about animals and eager to learn a rewarding trade, this role is perfect for you! You will assist with grooming procedures, animal restraint, and pet care routines, all while building a solid foundation for a future career in pet grooming and animal wellness. Duties Assist senior groomers with pet bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling to ensure high-quality grooming results Learn proper animal restraint techniques to keep pets calm and safe during grooming sessions Support pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance under supervision Handle animals gently and confidently, demonstrating excellent animal handling skills across various breeds and sizes Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and aftercare instructions Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and animal kennels to uphold hygiene standards Support veterinary team members with basic animal care tasks such as feeding, kennel cleaning, and light handling when needed Experience Passion for animals with a genuine interest in pet grooming and animal care industries Prior experience or familiarity with dog training, veterinary assistance, or kennel work is advantageous Knowledge of animal handling techniques including dog handling and veterinary technician experience is preferred Experience in pet sitting, veterinary assistant roles, or equine environments will be considered a plus Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling larger animals or equipment Customer service skills that foster positive relationships with clients and ensure excellent pet care experiences Join us in this vibrant apprenticeship program where your enthusiasm for animals meets professional growth.
