Job Description

We're currently hiring Pet Care Specialists in select North Raleigh service areas: 27609, 27612, 27613 & 27615. This is a hyper-local position and is not suitable for commuting from outside our service area. Bone-A-Fide Pet Care has been providing white-glove, high-quality pet sitting and dog walking throughout North Raleigh since 2007. We're having another growth spurt and looking for Pet Care Specialists who have experience with dogs and cats and believe every pet deserves the highest level of care and attention. All the while making part time supplemental income! What We Offer Flexible part-time work that can complement your existing schedule and lifestyle. This isn't traditional shift work. Your day is made up of individual pet visits, with time between visits to go home, run errands, work another job, or take care of other responsibilities. We ask that you have a consistent schedule of availability Monday-Friday and ideally, the ability to work at least 2 weekends per month. The most frequent times during the week we visit with pets are 7-9:30am, 11am-3pm, 4-7pm, and 8-10pm. Compensation ranges from approximately $300-$800+/month , with hourly compensation averaging $16.50-$22.50+/hour , depending on client needs, your availability, and your pet-care skills. Additional compensation is provided for holidays, evenings, and administration of certain medications, along with gratuity as provided by clients. Additional benefits include bonuses as determined by the company, milestone increases, direct deposit every two weeks, and opportunities for advancement. What You'll Do As a Pet Sitter / Dog Walker, you'll provide thoughtful, attentive care tailored to each pet's individual needs, personality, and routine. Your visits may include dog walks and playtime (cats too!), feeding, fresh water and treats, medication when needed, litter box care, and light home care such as bringing in mail and packages, rotating lights and blinds, watering a few house plants, and taking out trash. Before departing each visit, you'll send the client a visit note and photos that convey the loving care and experience their pet received with you. What We're Looking For Lives in 27609, 27612, 27613, or 27615. This is a hyper-local position and is not suitable for commuting from outside our service area. Has recent experience caring for dogs—professional, volunteer, or personal. Cat experience is a plus. Is extremely dependable and ethical, takes pride in all they do, and provides exceptional customer service and top-notch care. Pays close attention to detail, follows instructions carefully, and uses sound common sense and judgment. Communicates clearly, professionally, and thoughtfully, both verbally and in writing. Works well independently and as part of a team. Is at least 21 years old and able to walk for 20-50 minutes, bend, stoop, and lift 30+ lbs. Has a reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and smartphone for the pet-sitting app. Is seeking long-term work of about 12 months or longer. RESIDE IN?
We are only considering applications from candidates who currently reside in 27609, 27612, 27613, or 27615. This position is not suitable for commuting. This is a part-time, year round position, not summer or seasonal work. Are you able to commit to this position for at least the next 12 months? Consistent availability is essential. Our peak visit times are 7-9am, 10-3pm, 4-7pm and 8-10pm, Monday-Sunday. Please list the specific days and times you are regularly available to work during these days. Do you have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle that you personally own and have regular access to, and current auto insurance in your name. You MUST have all 3 to be considered for this position. Do you have a smartphone with unlimited data, GPS, camera/video, text, video and email capabilities, as well as the ability to download and use our pet-sitting software app while working? Pet sitting (travel care) has greater demand during spring, summer and all major holidays. Will you have part time availabilty during these periods and one or more of the following fall/winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve 2026 and New Year's Day 2027. Are you interested in occasional overnight pet care (9pm to 7am) in our clients' clean, comfortable and non-smoking homes? It may be about 0-5 times per month , but is not a requirement to be considered for this position. This position typically provides ~$300-800+ per month, depending on your availability, experience and skill level. Is this potential monthly earning range acceptable to you? Tells us about the most recent pet for whom you were fully responsible for daily care and expenses. What did you enjoy most about caring for that pet? If selected for this position, you will need to provide proof that you are at least 21 years old, have a valid driver's license and current auto insurance. We will also conduct a criminal background and DMV check and contact professional references. Communication may include phone, text, email and Zoom. Do you understand and agree to these requirements?
