Job Description

Job Overview As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of animals in our care. This position involves working closely with dogs and other pets, providing daily care, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. You will be responsible for monitoring the health and behavior of the animals while assisting with various tasks that contribute to their comfort and happiness. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their safety and that of others. Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large bags of food or supplies. Participate in pet grooming activities as required. Skills Experience in kennel work or animal handling is preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus. Familiarity with animal restraint methods to ensure safe handling. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance. Excellent dog handling skills to manage various breeds safely. $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
