Description We are The Wigglebutts Grooming & Boutique, a small business run by two owners, Kelly and Jenny! Together we strive to make every pup look and feel their best. We are currently three groomers and a bather, seeking an additional, passionate and skilled groomer to join our team! Pay is commission based. To give you an idea, we take on from 3 to 4 dogs each day in two hours blocks. Days are negotiable. We are open Tuesdays through Saturdays, and are looking for someone who can do 2 to 3 days a week. We base our prices mainly on the dog's weight, but coat health and temperament also play a role. We have an open floor policy, meaning pups of all sizes get to roam around us, chill, and give kisses. We do have cages for overly hyper, elderly, and nervous dogs who don't do well with others, though. We handle many dog breeds and temperaments, so we're looking for someone with a strong background in pet grooming and handling. We always help each other out here at The Wigglebutts. If a big dog doesn't wanna go in the bath, we'll lift them in together. If there's a lot of hair on the floor, someone tidies up when we have time. If a dog doesn't want their nails done, we'll hold them for you! We want everyone's day to move smoothly, so don't be afraid to ask for help. We also love to yap, we're all here to have fun and make sure the pups are too! Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs of all breeds and sizes Handle animals safely and gently, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure pet and staff safety Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and care instructions Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to ensure a hygienic environment Assist with pet handling during grooming procedures, ensuring animals are comfortable Monitor pets for signs of health issues or discomfort during grooming sessions and report concerns Follow all safety protocols related to animal handling, heavy lifting, and equipment operation Requirements Prior experience in pet grooming is preferred; certification or training in dog grooming is a plus Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint methods and animal care techniques Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners Physical ability to perform some heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during grooming sessions Familiarity with pet sitting or animal care is a plus Compassionate attitude towards animals and a genuine interest in their well-being This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to animal health and happiness.
