Hours:
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 9:00 AM-approximately 4:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday are required About the Position We are a busy, professional, fast-paced dog grooming salon looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our team as a Dog Bather / Grooming Assistant . No professional grooming experience is required. We will train the right person. Previous experience working with dogs is certainly a plus, but reliability, work ethic, attitude, and the ability to learn are more important than experience. This is a hands-on position working with dogs of all sizes , including large breeds. The right person will become an important part of keeping a busy grooming salon running efficiently. Responsibilities The Dog Bather / Grooming Assistant will: Bathe and dry dogs of all sizes and breeds Brush and prepare dogs for grooming Safely handle dogs with different personalities and temperaments Assist the groomer during the grooming process Help safely handle larger dogs when necessary Learn and follow proper dog-handling and salon procedures Clean bathing areas, grooming areas, kennels, and equipment Perform laundry and other routine salon duties Keep the salon clean, organized, and ready for the next dog Occasionally interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner Assist wherever needed to keep the salon operating smoothly This is physical, hands-on work. The job involves standing, bending, lifting/handling dogs, getting wet, working around dog hair, cleaning, laundry, and other routine salon responsibilities. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual Hardworking and willing to stay busy Calm and patient with dogs Confident handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments Physically capable of performing the duties of the position Comfortable working with large dogs Able to take direction and learn Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment Friendly and professional when interacting with customers Willing to perform all aspects of the job , including cleaning and laundry Able to work independently when appropriate Has reliable personal transportation Professional dog grooming or animal-care experience is a plus, but it is not required . Opportunity to Learn Grooming One of the unique opportunities with this position is the potential to learn professional dog grooming directly from the salon owner . This is not an immediate promotion or a guaranteed grooming position. However, an employee who demonstrates excellent work habits, reliability, good judgment with dogs, and an aptitude and interest in grooming may have opportunities to gradually learn additional grooming skills. We are much more interested in finding the right person than finding someone with the longest résumé. Compensation & Schedule Starting pay: $17.00/hour + pooled salon tips. Approximately 28 hours per week :
Tuesday:
9:00 AM-approximately 4:00 PM —
Required Thursday:

9:00 AM-approximately 4:00
PM Saturday:
9:00 AM-approximately 4:00 PM Hiring Process Candidates will participate in an initial interview. Candidates who appear to be a good fit will then be invited to participate in a paid working trial . The working trial gives both the candidate and the salon an opportunity to determine whether the position is a good fit. Interested? Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 per week
