Job Overview
WEEKEND WARRIOR WANTED!
Highland Humane Society is looking for a Weekend Warrior to join our team and help keep the shelter clean while caring for the animals who call it home. We're looking for someone who can help out on Saturdays (9-3 pm) & Sundays (9-1 pm), or both. We're flexible and open to someone who wants to work every weekend, just Saturdays, just Sundays, or a combination that works for both of us. The goal is to give our hardworking shelter staff a little more time off on the weekends while making sure our animals continue to receive the clean, comfortable environment they deserve. What will you be doing? Cleaning cat cages and cat rooms Cleaning dog kennels Washing and sanitizing dishes Washing, drying, and folding laundry General cleaning and maintaining a clean shelter environment Must be willing and able to clean BOTH cat and dog areas. This position is not limited to one species.
Starting Pay:
$12/hour Part-time — primarily weekend work Saturdays and/or Sundays Must be 18 years or older Must have reliable transportation Must be comfortable with physical cleaning tasks and working around animals You don't have to be a professional animal whisperer, but you do need to be dependable, willing to get your hands dirty, and ready to help make a difference. Schedule:
Varies Will be part time : Saturday 9-3 pm and/or Sunday 9-1 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean dog kennels, cat cages, and animal care areas Complete laundry and dishwashing tasks Perform general cleaning Walk, bathe, feed, care for dogs and cats Put away donations, help unload donations
Requirements:
Must be 18 years old Must have their own transportation to and from work Willing to work in all kinds of weather as we have outside kennels Able to lift 40+ lbs regularly Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to stay on task in a fast-paced environment Willingness to learn and complete required online training courses Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development throughout the year
