An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
Qualifications:
Comfortable handling all breeds and sizes of dogs & cats Able to identify and understand animal behavior & dog communication Understanding of breed personalities and behaviors A genuine love and respect for dogs & cats Must have the stamina to work with energetic dogs for 6-8- hour shifts Career stability Multitasking ability Experience working in a fast-paced environment Positive, energetic personality Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following items: Supervising large groups of dogs with other team members both inside & outside Use of obedience skills and benevolent leadership to control the pack Greet and engage with clients during arrivals and departures Maintaining sanitary play yards, suites, and enclosures, and ensuring that ITD is inviting and clean at all times General cleaning, including laundry, washing dishes, and mopping Preparing meals and administering medications Greet and engage with clients during the check-in process Must be able to follow directions and comply with processes and procedures for best practices in animal care, health, and safety Entering client information, scheduling, and payment into the computer
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift food and belongings weighing up to 50 pounds Handle animals weighing up to 150 pounds Work standing, walking, and bending for 6-8- hour shifts Stamina to work with energetic dogs, while ensuring our facility is inviting and sanitary
Schedule:
Shifts are usually 7 am- 1 pm, 1 pm
- 7 pm, 9 am
- 3 pm, Monday
- Friday Team members must work at least one weekend shift.
What We Offer:
$14- 16 per hour (depending on experience/performance) Join our dog daycare team!
