Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and care of pets, ensuring they look their best while also maintaining their health and well-being. This role requires strong animal handling skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, and clipping fur for various breeds of dogs and other pets. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Provide basic health checks during grooming sessions, identifying any potential issues that may require veterinary attention. Handle pets safely and effectively, using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, including tools and equipment. Communicate with pet owners about their pet's grooming needs and provide recommendations for care. Manage appointments and maintain accurate records of services provided. Provide excellent customer service to build lasting relationships with pet owners. Experience Previous experience in pet grooming is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate. Experience in dog training or veterinary settings is a plus, including roles such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant. Strong skills in animal handling, care, and restraint are essential. Familiarity with equine care or kennel experience is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple animals.
