Overview We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to provide in-home dogsitting services. This role involves caring for dogs in their familiar environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while their owners are away. The ideal candidate will have experience in pet care and possess skills that enhance the quality of care provided. Duties Provide attentive and loving care to dogs, including feeding, walking, and playtime. Administer any necessary medications as directed by the pet owner. Maintain a clean and safe environment for the dogs, including cleaning up after them. Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs, reporting any concerns to the owner promptly. Ensure that all needs of the dogs are met, including exercise, companionship, and mental stimulation. Assist with meal preparation for the dogs as needed. Be prepared to handle any emergencies with first aid or CPR if required. Engage in activities that promote the dogs' well-being and happiness. Qualifications Previous experience in pet care or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of basic dog behavior and training techniques is a plus. Skills in hospice care or memory care can be beneficial for handling special needs pets. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., moving large dog crates or supplies). Experience in home care settings or group homes can enhance understanding of caregiving responsibilities. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care is essential.
