The Albany Pet Hotel is seeking a professional Dog Groomer to join our growing salon team! We are a fast-paced pet boarding and doggy daycare facility with established grooming clientele and a spacious salon that provides multiple tubs, drying kennels, and stations. This could be the perfect position for someone who has professional pet grooming experience and is looking to join a smaller, drama-free team, or someone with professional dog bathing experience who is interested in growing their grooming skills throughout hands-on training! Tasks & Responsibilities Comfortably and efficiently bathe, groom, and handle a variety of dogs ranging in age, size, and temperament. Provide a variety of haircuts and other grooming services to the owner's preference and dog's needs, demonstrating a strong understanding of various haircut styles. Provide nail trims and other grooming services during designated walk-in days and hours. Speak with pet parents at drop off and pick up to discuss their dog's appointment, including promoting services based on the owner's and dog's wants and needs. Be comfortable and efficient with handling client disputes should they arise. Clean and thoroughly sanitize the grooming salon by the end of each shift. Be able to identify any physical or behavioral abnormalities during each dog's appointment, and communicate these concerns with pet parents and/or our receptionist team directly. Be able to price each individual grooming appointment based on our price chart. Be willing and available to take on easy dog baths last minute as needed, and as your schedule allows. Scheduling We are seeking someone who is available five days a week from 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm. Saturday availability is a must! This is a full-time position guaranteeing at least 35-40 hours per week.
