Job Description

Animal caretaker is responsible for the care of various laboratory animals. This may include but are not limited to: crayfish, frogs, marine and freshwater fish, earwigs, salamanders, mice and beetles. The biology department has various animals throughout the academic year.
Duties include:
daily feeding and cleaning, water chemistry, record keeping. Student will also be responsible for keeping the aquatics room and animal colony neat and clean. This position requires work on one day over the weekend. Students must be reliable and work well independently. Pre-vet students encouraged to apply. Preference is given to those available to work weekends. Should be able to supervise others, manage records, and data entry as well as participate in physical labor (lifting water buckets, etc). Should be dependable, punctual, and highly motivated. Student should maintain strong communication skills and should enjoy working with others. Must be willing to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
