Merry Puppins is seeking a dependable, compassionate dog walker to provide recurring weekday walks in Pittsburgh's East End and Fox Chapel areas. This position is ideal for someone who has consistent availability between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and would enjoy developing ongoing relationships with the same dogs and their families. This is professional pet care, not casual gig work. Our clients trust us with their pets and homes, and our team members receive training, support, and detailed care instructions. Schedule Consistent availability between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on agreed-upon weekdays Most assignments take place Monday through Friday Part-time hours that may grow as your recurring route develops Additional morning, evening, weekend, holiday, travel-care, and overnight assignments may be available if desired Availability during the entire midday window is important, even when the scheduled visits do not fill every part of that window Compensation Team members are paid per completed assignment after their initial training period. Depending on the number, length, and location of visits on a route, earnings typically average approximately $16 to $20 per working hour . Because schedules and travel distances vary, this is an estimate rather than a guaranteed hourly rate. New employees are paid hourly during their first two weeks of training and are paid weekly during that introductory training period.Additional compensation opportunities may include:

Responsibilities Provide safe, attentive dog walks and potty visits Follow each pet's written care instructions carefully Use positive, Fear Free handling practices Monitor pets for changes in behavior, health, or comfort Send clients timely visit updates with photos Secure clients' homes and manage keys or entry instructions responsibly Communicate promptly with the office and team leaders Travel independently between clients throughout our service area Maintain reliable availability for recurring clients Service Area Our service area includes neighborhoods such as: Highland Park Morningside Lawrenceville Shadyside Squirrel Hill Regent Square Aspinwall Millvale O'Hara Township Fox Chapel Routes are planned with geography in mind, but employees must be prepared to drive between assignments.Requirements Applicants must:
Be at least 18 years old Have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance Be consistently available during the agreed-upon weekday midday schedule Have a smartphone with dependable data service Be comfortable entering clients' homes independently Be able to walk outdoors in varying Pittsburgh weather Be able to safely handle dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels Communicate clearly and respond promptly during working hours Follow detailed written instructions Be dependable, observant, patient, and trustworthy Successfully complete our screening, background-check, onboarding, and training processes Professional animal-care experience is welcome but not required.
