An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Bathing, drying and brushing dogs
- Preparing dogs for the groomers
- Cleaning tubs, grooming areas and equipment
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels
- Feeding, watering and safely moving dogs
- Monitoring dogs and reporting health or behavior concerns
- Helping with laundry and general facility cleaning Experience with dogs, bathing or kennel work is preferred, but we will consider a dependable person who learns quickly and follows instructions.
You should be:
- Comfortable with dogs of different sizes and personalities
- Dependable and consistently on time
- Patient, gentle and safety-conscious
- Willing to clean and stay active throughout the shift
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Equipped with reliable transportation to Sciota Weekend and holiday availability is strongly preferred because dogs require care every day.
