A Maintenance Helper or Assistant assists maintenance mechanics. Repairs and maintains equipment and machines, such as cars or heating systems. May assemble or adjust machines as directed by a head mechanic.
Pocono Barking Lot is hiring a dependable and experienced Kennel Technician/Dog Bather who can also assist with landscaping and basic property maintenance. This position currently includes a guaranteed kennel shift every Wednesday. Additional kennel coverage may be available on Saturdays. Candidates with landscaping or maintenance experience may qualify for additional workdays and hours.
Kennel responsibilities:
Feed, water, exercise, and safely care for dogs Clean and sanitize kennels, bowls, bedding, play areas, and common spaces Safely handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments Monitor dogs for changes in health, behavior, appetite, or comfort Bathe, dry, and brush dogs as needed Assist with check-ins, checkouts, laundry, and daily kennel operations Follow all safety, sanitation, feeding, and animal-care procedures Report concerns and provide clear updates to management Landscaping and maintenance responsibilities may include: Mowing the lawn Weed-eating and trimming Spraying and removing weeds Cleaning outdoor areas Performing basic property and facility maintenance Reporting repair or safety concerns to management
Requirements:
Previous professional kennel, boarding, daycare, veterinary, grooming, or dog-handling experience Comfortable handling large, strong, nervous, reactive, or mildly aggressive dogs Dependable and consistently available on Wednesdays Saturday availability is strongly preferred Reliable transportation to Sciota, Pennsylvania Able to stand, bend, clean, lift supplies, and perform outdoor physical work Willing to work in different weather conditions when completing landscaping duties Preferred qualifications: Dog-bathing, nail-trimming, or grooming experience Lawn care or landscaping experience Basic maintenance or handyman skills Interest in learning additional grooming and animal-care skills
Schedule:
Guaranteed eight-hour Wednesday shift Saturday kennel coverage may be available Additional hours may be offered for landscaping and property maintenance Opportunity to grow into approximately three or four workdays per week based on skills, performance, reliability, and operational needs
Pay:
