Animal Care Attendant - Dog Rescue Fostering Foster Animal Rescue Part-Time | Approximately 20 Hours Per Week | $11.00 Per Hour Do you love dogs and want your work to truly make a difference? Fostering Foster Animal Rescue is looking for a dependable, compassionate, hardworking Animal Care Attendant to join our rescue farm team. This is a hands-on position caring for dogs who are waiting for the families they deserve. For the dogs in our care, this isn't just a job. You are part of their second chance. Schedule & Availability This is primarily a weekend position. Weekend availability is required. The person hired for this position must be available to work: Saturday mornings and afternoons Sunday mornings and afternoons 1-2 additional morning or afternoon shifts during the week Approximately 20 hours per week There may also be opportunities for additional hours when coworkers are out, during holidays and special rescue events, or when we experience a large influx of animals needing care. Because our animals depend on us 365 days a year, reliability and dependable attendance are essential for this position. What You'll Do Our Animal Care Attendants help make sure every dog at our rescue is safe, comfortable, clean, healthy, and loved.

Daily responsibilities include:

Feeding dogs and providing fresh water Cleaning kennels, crates, bowls, bedding, and animal-care areas Letting dogs out for exercise, playtime, and bathroom breaks Walking and safely handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels Providing enrichment, attention, affection, and socialization Observing dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, or physical condition and reporting concerns Washing bedding and completing routine cleaning and sanitation Helping keep the rescue farm clean, organized, and safe Assisting with general animal-care duties as needed Working cooperatively with staff and volunteers to give our animals the best possible care Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Dependable and punctual — our animals rely on us every single day Compassionate and genuinely comfortable working with dogs Hardworking and willing to get dirty Comfortable working around dogs of different sizes and temperaments Able to follow animal-handling and safety procedures Comfortable working independently as well as with a small team Patient and able to remain calm around excited, frightened, shy, or energetic dogs Observant and willing to speak up when something doesn't seem right Willing to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Available for the required weekend and weekday shifts Previous kennel, veterinary, animal shelter, rescue, farm, or professional animal-care experience is a plus, but the right attitude, reliability, compassion, and willingness to learn are extremely important to us. Physical Requirements This is an active, physical job.

Applicants should be comfortable:

Spending much of the shift standing and walking Bending, kneeling, reaching, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks Safely handling dogs of various sizes Lifting and carrying animal food, supplies, bedding, and other items Working indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or otherwise changing weather conditions Performing the cleaning and physical work that is an essential part of caring for animals More Than a Job Animal rescue isn't always glamorous.
