Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional care for our furry residents! In this energetic role, you will ensure the well-being, cleanliness, and safety of animals in our pet care facility. Your enthusiasm for animal care combined with your teamwork and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for pets and their owners alike. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with animals while developing valuable skills in pet handling, grooming, and animal behavior management. Duties Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as needed Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to ensure a sanitized environment in compliance with pet boarding and facility sanitization standards Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to promote comfort and safety for pets and staff Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and healthy Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness, communicating concerns to veterinary staff or supervisors promptly Support outdoor work activities such as walking dogs or cleaning outdoor enclosures while ensuring safety during all interactions Engage in team lifting when moving large or heavy equipment or animals, following proper safety protocols to prevent injury Qualifications Prior veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel work demonstrating animal handling proficiency Strong knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques to ensure safe interactions Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for animal care and facility maintenance Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Knowledge of pet grooming practices and pet boarding procedures is a plus Outdoor work experience preferred for tasks involving outdoor enclosures or walking dogs Commitment to maintaining a clean environment through thorough sanitation practices in line with pet care standards Join us in creating a safe, clean, and caring environment where animals thrive! Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
