Chasing Tails Pet Farm is seeking a confident, dependable, and highly organized Weekend Kennel Director to oversee our facility operations Friday through Monday . This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing the weekend kennel team, maintaining exceptional standards of animal care, coordinating daily operations, supporting clients, and ensuring all responsibilities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is not someone who simply delegates from the front desk. We are looking for a leader who is comfortable stepping into any role when needed, holding employees accountable, communicating with clients, handling animals, solving problems, and keeping the facility operating at a high level throughout the weekend. You will serve as the primary manager on duty and will be expected to take ownership of the operation during your scheduled days. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Daily Operations Lead, supervise, and coordinate the weekend kennel staff. Assign daily responsibilities and ensure all tasks are completed thoroughly and on time. Maintain clear expectations for employee performance, professionalism, safety, and animal care. Monitor employee productivity and redirect staff when priorities change. Delegate responsibilities effectively while remaining willing to assist wherever needed. Address employee concerns and operational issues professionally. Communicate important incidents, staffing concerns, animal concerns, and client issues to senior management. Ensure opening, daytime, and closing procedures are completed correctly. Maintain an organized, efficient, and professional work environment. Be capable and willing to cover or assist with other positions when staffing or operational needs require it. Animal Care & Safety Oversee the daily care of daycare and boarding dogs. Coordinate feeding schedules, medications, exercise, play groups, rest periods, and other daily care requirements. Monitor dogs closely for changes in behavior, health, mobility, appetite, or overall well-being. Ensure all animal-related concerns, injuries, or incidents are documented and communicated appropriately. Maintain safe handling practices with dogs of different breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. Ensure kennel areas, yards, feeding areas, and common spaces remain clean and sanitary. Perform or assist with bathing, nail trims, and basic grooming services when needed. Maintain accurate records regarding animal care, medications, feeding instructions, and client requests. Ensure safety procedures and company policies are consistently followed by the entire team. Client Experience Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during the weekend. Greet clients and visitors professionally and enthusiastically. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client questions. Assist clients with reservations, scheduling, service questions, and account needs. Resolve customer concerns calmly, professionally, and efficiently. Communicate important information regarding a client's pet clearly and accurately. Build strong relationships with clients and create an experience that encourages long-term loyalty. Sales & Business Development Understand Chasing Tails Pet Farm's services and confidently explain them to clients. Identify opportunities to recommend daycare, boarding, grooming, training, transportation, packages, and other applicable services. Help convert client inquiries into reservations and additional services when appropriate. Maintain a sales-minded approach while ensuring recommendations genuinely meet the needs of the client and their dog. Support the overall growth and success of Chasing Tails Pet Farm. Administrative Responsibilities Manage appointment and reservation scheduling. Maintain accurate client and animal records. Perform data entry and other administrative tasks accurately. Review daily schedules and prepare the team for incoming, departing, daycare, grooming, training, and boarding dogs. Maintain an organized front office and management workspace. Complete incident reports, medication documentation, employee documentation, and other required records when necessary. Candidates must be comfortable:
Working around dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. Being on their feet for extended periods. Working both indoors and outdoors. Working in changing weather conditions. Bending, kneeling, walking, lifting, and performing physical kennel duties. Cleaning animal areas and handling normal pet-care messes. Stepping into hands-on kennel responsibilities when necessary.
Schedule Expectations This position works:
Friday-Monday | 6:30 AM-5:00 PM Weekend availability is a core requirement of this position.
