Full Job Description Kennel Attendant Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary Starting Pay:
$10.00 per hour, with pay dependent upon experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday positions available, with some Saturday/Sunday positions Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary is seeking dependable, compassionate Kennel Attendants . This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training and an excellent opportunity for someone interested in eventually growing into a Veterinary Assistant position. About Edgar & Ivy's We are a critical-care cat rescue caring for cats and kittens of all ages, including orphaned newborns, injured animals, sick cats, and those requiring ongoing medical care. Working here provides hands-on experience in shelter management and shelter medicine , including sanitation and disease prevention, animal handling, recognizing changes in health or behavior, and the operation of a high-volume rescue. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize kennels and animal-care areas Provide fresh food and water Change bedding and litter boxes Wash dishes and animal-care laundry Handle and interact with cats and kittens Monitor appetite, behavior, and condition and report concerns promptly Follow sanitation, disease-control, and safety protocols Maintain clean, organized work areas Assist with other shelter duties as needed Requirements Reliability is extremely important. Our animals depend on staff every day for food, clean housing, medication support, and care.
Applicants must:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent Be dependable and punctual Have reliable transportation Be comfortable with cats of all ages and medical conditions Be willing to clean litter boxes, kennels, bodily fluids, and other normal aspects of animal care Follow detailed instructions and established protocols Work well as part of a team Be willing to learn Reliable transportation is required because there is no public bus service to our facility. No Experience? That's Okay. We are willing to train the right person. Dependable, hardworking employees who demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment may have opportunities to learn additional animal-care and veterinary-assistant responsibilities as they grow with our organization.
