Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing essential support in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for pets. This role involves hands-on care for animals, ensuring their well-being while assisting with daily operations in the kennel. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area, including cleaning cages and common spaces. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians. Support dog training sessions and engage in positive reinforcement techniques. Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety during interactions. Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and health observations. Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of animal welfare are met. Skills Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is preferred. Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or equipment. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus. Experience in dog training or behavioral management is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and well-being. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
