If you're the person at a party who's usually hanging out with the dog... If seeing 20 excited doggos running toward you sounds more amazing than overwhelming... And if spending your workday hiking Utah trails with a pack of happy dogs sounds like your kind of dream job... You might have just found it. Doggo Camp is a leash-free dog daycare adventure and kennel-free boarding facility located in Kamas, UT, serving families throughout the Park City area. We're not a traditional dog daycare. Our doggos spend their days adventuring off-leash in the mountains with their friends and their overnights as part of our family in our home-style, kennel-free environment. Our mission is to create the happiest place on earth for dogs—and complete peace of mind for their parents. We're currently looking for 1-2 dependable, energetic dog lovers to join our team.

DO NOT NEED PROFESSIONAL DOG EXPERIENCE

Dog experience can be helpful, but it isn't what matters most to us. We have very specific systems and protocols for how we care for, communicate with and manage our doggos—and we're happy to teach them to someone who is eager to learn. What we can't teach is a HUGE love for dogs, a great attitude, reliability, initiative, calm confidence and the desire to learn. Those qualities matter to us far more than how many years you've worked in a kennel. Experience working with dogs, children or in another environment requiring responsibility for living beings can certainly be valuable, but the right person with no previous experience is absolutely encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO A

typical day at Doggo Camp may include:

• Hiking local mountain trails with an off-leash pack of approximately 12-28 dogs
• Driving a Doggo Camp van to pick up and drop off doggos throughout the Park City area
• Learning to read dog behavior, body language and pack dynamics
• Supervising dog play and maintaining a safe, calm and happy environment
• Helping introduce new doggos into the pack
• Reinforcing Doggo Camp's behavioral and training protocols
• Monitoring every dog for changes in health, behavior, stress or safety
• Taking great photos of our doggos running, playing, exploring and generally living their best lives
• Creating daily report cards so parents can experience their dog's day with us
• Communicating warmly and professionally with dog parents
• Feeding dogs lunch (when needed) and managing collars, equipment and belongings
• Keeping our indoor spaces, outdoor areas and vans clean and sanitary
• And yes.

..scooping a LOT of poop There is a lot of hiking, playing, laughing and loving on dogs. But this isn't a job where you simply get paid to play with puppies. Our parents are trusting us with members of their family. You're responsible for the safety and wellbeing of living beings, sometimes 20+ at once (with team members). That requires attention, good judgment, great communication, following systems and staying calm when things don't go according to plan.

THE PEOPLE WHO THRIVE AT DOGGO CAMP... LOVE

dogs. Not just like them. Not just think puppies are cute. We mean the kind of person who genuinely loves being around dogs—even when they're muddy, barking, stubborn, slobbery or having a challenging day. Take initiative. You see something that needs to be done and do it. You don't need someone constantly telling you what comes next. Are ridiculously reliable. Dogs need to be cared for whether it's snowing, you're tired or it's Monday morning. Your teammates need to know they can count on you. Bring a great attitude. We work hard, but we also laugh, play and genuinely enjoy these doggos and each other. Stay calm. Twenty excited dogs don't need another excited creature in the room. They need a human who can stay calm, confident and patient. Want to learn. There is a LOT to learn at Doggo Camp—dog names, personalities, behaviors, safety protocols, equipment, routes and systems. We don't expect you to know it all coming in. We do expect you to want to learn it. Pay attention. Situational awareness is huge here. You notice when a dog isn't acting like themselves, when something doesn't look right or when a situation could become unsafe. Take ownership. Mistakes happen. We expect our team to be honest, communicate and help solve the problem rather than hide it or blame someone else. Love being outside. Utah gives us gorgeous sunny hiking days...and snow, cold, heat, mud and everything in between. The doggos still want their adventure.

THIS PROBABLY ISN'T YOUR JOB

IF... You're mainly looking for an easy job where you cuddle puppies all day. It also probably isn't a good fit if you're frequently late, dislike cleaning, hate being outside in bad weather, need constant direction, struggle to retain details, aren't comfortable taking initiative or become easily flustered when several things are happening at once. This can absolutely be a dream job. It's just not an easy job. And that's part of what makes it so rewarding.

LOCAL RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED

You must currently live in Kamas, Park City, Heber or the immediate surrounding area to be considered for this position. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants commuting from Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake Valley or other locations "down the mountain." Even if you are comfortable making that commute. Even if you have made that commute for another job. Even if you have a reliable 4WD vehicle. Our team must be able to reliably reach the Kamas facility during winter storms, traffic delays, accidents and canyon/road closures. Because living animals depend on us arriving on time, we have learned through experience that a down-the-mountain commute does not provide the reliability this position requires. Please only apply if you already live in Kamas, Park City, Heber or the immediate surrounding area.

PHYSICAL & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

You must:

• Be able to stand, walk and hike for extended periods
• Be comfortable hiking outdoors year-round
• Be able to bend, crouch and move quickly when necessary
• Be able to lift up to 75 lbs and safely handle dogs weighing 100+ lbs
• Be comfortable learning to manage large groups of dogs
• Be able to remain calm during stressful dog interactions and learn how to safely intervene when necessary
• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Have reliable transportation capable of getting you to our Kamas facility regardless of weather
• Be comfortable driving Doggo Camp vehicles in Park City/Kamas winter conditions
• Report to every shift fully alert and unimpaired because this is a safety-sensitive position involving animals and driving
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent

SCHEDULE & HOURS

We're currently hiring for both part-time and full-time positions.

Full-time:

Approximately 34-40 hours/week, typically 4-5 days

Part-time:

Approximately 23-27 hours/week, typically 3 days Weekend and holiday availability may be needed based on our boarding schedule. One advantage of Doggo Camp is that we can offer our regular team members consistent, meaningful hours rather than just a few short shifts each week.

PAY & TRAINING

Starting pay: $16-$20/hour, based on experience, demonstrated skills and training progress. Someone coming to us with no relevant dog-care or similar experience may begin toward the lower end of the range while learning both dog handling and Doggo Camp's systems and safety protocols. Starting pay may be higher for candidates who demonstrate relevant experience, strong transferable skills or an ability to learn and take on responsibilities quickly. Your starting wage isn't necessarily where you'll stay. As you progress through training and demonstrate that you can safely and independently handle the responsibilities of the position, your pay can increase based on your demonstrated abilities and performance. Performance and compensation are reviewed as training milestones are achieved and periodically thereafter.

CANINE CPR

All employees must complete an approved online Canine CPR course or have a current certification within 30 days of hire. After 90 days of successful employment, Doggo Camp will reimburse the cost of CPR certification.

OUR INTERVIEW PROCESS

Candidates who look like a potential fit will first be invited to a short Zoom interview. Those who move forward may then be invited to spend time shadowing our team at Doggo Camp . The shadow experience gives you the opportunity to see what a real day at Doggo Camp looks like, meet the doggos, observe the responsibilities involved and decide whether the job feels right for you. This is an observational part of our interview process—not a work shift—and you will not be expected to perform employee duties. We believe it's important that you get to evaluate us just as much as we're evaluating you. If you're reading this thinking... "Wait.
