Copper View Animal Hospital/Boarding and Grooming is a family-owned eight doctor veterinary clinic and 3 groomer grooming/ boarding facility providing exceptional medical care to companion animals and support to their owners.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a friendly and organized individual to join our team as a Pet Care Associate. A Pet Care Associate works closely with our guests, providing husbandry and enrichment such as cleaning and maintaining kennels, feeding, and medicating if needed, walking/playing with guests. The Pet Care Associate is also involved with clients, providing excellent care to guests and accurate information to inquiries from clients and other members of the public about Copper View Boarding and Grooming over the phone and in-person. The Pet Care Associate aides in balancing a 3-groomer schedule and boarding schedule, so we have adequate room and time to meet the needs of our clients. The Pet Care Associate will also conduct a variety of clerical functions relevant to the operations of a boarding and grooming facility as assigned by the Boarding Manager and Veterinary Hospital Managers. We are open Monday-Sunday 8am-6pm Shifts will be reflective of those hours. Must be available to work weekends and holidays Minimum qualifications: Knowledge of general office practices and procedures including filing systems; receptionist and telephone techniques, ability to perform clerical work with speed and accuracy; use a multiple line telephone; typing; greet clients graciously and recognize the responsibilities involved in responding to client questions; keep simple records; understand and carry out oral and written directions; proficiently handle all forms of monies; maintain a harmonious and cooperative relationship with those contacted during work. Oversee the safety and well-being of pets (dogs/cats); Maintain cleanliness of facility; Exercise animals; Feed and water animals; Administer medication as directed; Maintain records; Read and comprehend written information / instructions. Maintain a positive / professional attitude.
Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, twist, and sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work and reach on hands and knees. Job requires use of multi-line phones, computer, and fax with long periods of time spent on computers and phones. Stock all kennel/cleaning supplies as needed. Processing payments and managing a cash till. Spot-clean kennels and public areas throughout the day. Monitor clinic e-mail and other scheduling systems. Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the clinic. Keep up on the cleaning check list and overall sanitation of the front reception/lobby area and hospital as needed. Schedules all appointments, this includes confirming guests are current on all core vaccines and/or making arrangements with the hospital side to have vaccinations administered. Ensures clients fill out the Check In forms completely when checking in guests. Updates existing medical records and collects sufficient information and new client sheet to prepare a new file. Receives and applies payment for services rendered. Ability to work independently and as part of team. Answers questions regarding the status of guests as directed by the groomers or boarding staff. Scans relevant medical documents in patient files. Must be customer focused and friendly. Can multi-task by way of helping clients in-person and on the phone at the same time. Screens calls for groomers and take detailed messages for call backs. Other duties as assigned.
