Untangled Leashes is a woman- and veteran-owned company that operates in Falls Church, Merrifield/Mosaic District, and Vienna. We are looking for friendly, caring, and reliable dog walking professionals with exceptional communication skills to add to our team! This is a great opportunity for freelancers, stay-at-home moms whose children are in school, college/grad students, substitute teachers, retirees, morning/afternoon bus drivers, or anyone with midday availability! Our ideal candidate is reliable, compassionate about animals, has professional and/or personal experience with pet handling and care, is customer-service oriented, lives within or near our service area, and is seeking employment of 6 months or more.

PLEASE NOTE

This position is for applicants available 10:00am-3pm Monday through Thursday. No exceptions This is a part-time 1099 independent contractor position . Additional work is available on weekends, evenings, and holidays if wanted!

Job Highlights:

Utilize strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and address their concerns Maintain accurate records of pet care activities and schedules Ensure proper animal handling and restraint during all interactions Manage time effectively to accommodate multiple clients and their pets To be considered for this position you must: LOVE working with animals!! Have basic pet care and dog walking knowledge and be comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments Possess excellent written communication skills Be able and willing to walk in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow Have a reliable, insured vehicle that you do not share Have a valid Driver's License Be able to walk up to 5 miles/day Be able to lift and carry at least 20 pounds Be able to work independently with little oversight Own an iPhone or Android smartphone with a data plan and a reliable camera Have excellent communication and time-management skills Provide professional references Pass criminal background and driving record checks Complete our screening process and in-person dog walking interview If you meet the above criteria, we look forward to hearing from you!
