Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic pet care team as a Dog Kennel Runner, where your passion for animals and energetic attitude will make a real difference in the lives of our furry guests! In this vital role, you'll be the friendly face and reliable caretaker responsible for ensuring dogs are happy, healthy, and well-cared-for during their stay. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a safe, clean, and loving environment that pet owners trust and appreciate. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love of animals with hands-on work in a lively, team-oriented setting. Duties Assist with dog handling, including feeding, walking, playing, and supervising outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing kennels, common areas, and equipment to uphold pet care facility standards Support animal restraint procedures during grooming, veterinary check-ups, or other necessary interventions Provide pet sitting services by monitoring dogs' behavior, administering medication if needed, and ensuring their comfort throughout their stay Help with pet boarding operations by organizing kennels, tracking pet records, and coordinating check-in/check-out processes Engage in animal behavior observation to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate findings to veterinary staff or management Safely transport dogs to and from designated kennels, play areas, grooming stations, and other assigned locations within the facility. Assist with client check-in and check-out procedures by collecting pet belongings, handling dogs, and providing support until the process is completed. Skills Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background highly preferred for understanding animal health needs Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling to confidently manage various breeds and temperaments Strong knowledge of kennel operations and animal care best practices for sanitation and safety compliance Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving supplies or large dogs safely Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and pet grooming procedures to ensure safe handling Outdoor work experience to comfortably manage pets during outdoor activities regardless of weather conditions Knowledge of pet behavior cues to monitor animals' emotional well-being and prevent conflicts or injuries

Supervisory Responsibilities:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
