This is an active, outdoor job that involves visiting multiple homes during a shift, walking dogs, and caring for pets while their owners are at work. If you enjoy being outside, staying active, and spending time with animals, this role can be a great fit. Many of the pets we care for see us several times each week, so our visits become an important part of their routine. Midday walks provide exercise, enrichment, and a break in the day while their families are away. Shifts typically take place between 9am and 5pm and are usually 4 to 6 hours long. Hours grow as you complete training and become familiar with our systems and procedures. We are currently prioritizing Thursday - Sunday shifts. This is W-2 employment, not gig work. You are paid for drive time, visit time, and writing updates. You will spend most of your shift outdoors walking dogs, traveling between nearby homes, and providing thoughtful care for pets. What you'll do Walk dogs in neighborhood routes and parks Follow detailed care instructions for each pet Feed pets and refresh water when needed Scoop litter boxes or handle simple pet cleanups Send short visit reports with photos through our app Drive between nearby homes during your shift Pets are scheduled throughout the day and rely on us to show up on time, so strong organization and follow through are important. Requirements 18 or older Reliable vehicle, current insurance, and smartphone with data Comfortable walking several miles per day in all weather Able to confidently handle dogs of different sizes Available at least 3 to 4 weekdays during daytime hours Pay & Benefits Starting pay $20 per hour during training First raise after completing the training period (about 30 days) W-2 employment with all working time paid, including drive time and visit reports Mileage reimbursement when driving between visits Tips are common and typically add about $4-$6 per hour on average Paid training and ongoing support Opportunities for advancement (Trainer, Shift Lead) Monthly wellness stipend Costco membership Shoe reimbursement Rex & Roxy Pet Care provides professional midday dog walks and one on one pet care for busy households in Shoreline and nearby communities.
