Full-Time Dog Groomer — Central Bark New Berlin Central Bark New Berlin is looking for a Full-Time Dog Groomer to join our fast-paced Doggy Daycare & Grooming Salon! Our grooming room is spacious, climate-controlled, and fully equipped . We are looking for a talented, dependable team player who takes pride in their work and enjoys providing exceptional care and service to both dogs and their owners. Compensation & Benefits 50% grooming commission + tips 40 hours of PTO after 1 year 401(k) Health, dental, vision & supplemental insurance available after 90 days Dryers and select grooming products provided Established daycare and grooming clientele Schedule Full-time — 40 hours/week Grooming appointments are scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday .

Approximately:

80% — Bathing, brushing, drying, clipping and grooming dogs 10% — Scheduling appointments, communicating with clients, and checking dogs in/out 10% — Cleaning, laundry and maintaining the grooming area What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate has: Minimum 1 year of professional grooming experience , including full-body haircuts Strong scissoring and grooming techniques Experience bathing and drying a variety of breeds Knowledge of breed-specific grooming styles Patience and excellent handling skills Creativity and strong attention to detail Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to understand and meet individual client grooming requests Ability to work independently and manage appointments and client communication A positive, team-oriented attitude Willingness to accept feedback and instruction to continue improving grooming techniques Comfort using a digital booking platform and database Responsibilities In addition to grooming, this position will assist with the day-to-day operation of our grooming salon, including: Discussing grooming requests and recommendations with clients Scheduling grooming appointments Checking dogs in and out Bathing, brushing, blow-drying, clipping and shaving Nail trims and ear cleaning Anal gland expression Maintaining accurate grooming records Returning client phone calls and messages in a timely manner Answering grooming phone calls and emails Assisting with holding and handling dogs as needed Maintaining a clean grooming station and shared grooming areas Helping with shared reception duties Promoting grooming services at Central Bark Taking appointments from both grooming clients and in-house daycare clients , including quick baths and nail trims Equipment Some grooming equipment and products are provided, including cage dryers. Groomers are responsible for maintaining their own personal grooming tools and equipment. Physical Requirements This position involves standing for extended periods and performing repetitive grooming motions throughout the day.

Candidates must be able to:

Lift and handle dogs and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds Safely handle and restrain dogs Perform repetitive grasping, pinching and pulling motions Stand for extended periods Work safely around dogs of varying sizes, breeds and temperaments Qualifications Minimum 1 year of professional dog grooming experience , including full-body haircuts Formal grooming education or apprenticeship experience is preferred Strong dog-handling skills Ability to communicate dog & client related concerns to management Ability to maintain accurate grooming records Basic computer skills Ability to read and follow grooming instructions Basic math skills Current tetanus vaccination required Hiring Process Before receiving an offer, candidates will be required to complete: Working interview Grooming portfolio/photo submission Background check At least 3 professional references To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter, grooming portfolio, and at least 3 professional references.
