Job Description

Paradise Pet Resort and Spa is seeking an energetic, positive, compassionate addition to our resort team as a Kennel Attendant and Daycare Coordinator Open availability including both Saturday and Sunday is essential.
Responsibilities include:
Monitoring group and individual play times, managing the dogs and ensuring the safety of the playgroup. Feeding, medicating, interacting with & caring for the pets, providing excellent communication and client service to ensure a fantastic experience for every pet and every pet parent. Must fully understand how to deliver a 5-Star experience.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Handle and restrain animals of various sizes, weights, and temperaments. Subject to animal bites or scratches. Work performed in high noise level areas. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, animal dander, and feces. Physical efforts require constant bending, stooping, standing, and walking. Some lifting of animals and objects up to 40 pounds with reasonable accommodation. Dog Management Interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in playgroup. Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup. Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management. Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management. Use proper dog introduction procedures. Use appropriate praise and dog correction methods. Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management. Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns. Daily Cleaning Scoop dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed Mop up accidents immediately Dust mopping/wet mopping floors as assigned. Clean suites, play areas, and other areas of the resort as required Removing trash from containers Disinfect outside area Take all dirty bowls/blankets to wash area if used Cleaning water bowls, toys, and poop buckets/scoops Greeting customers and bringing dogs into play areas at designated times. Minimum Experience, Skills, Certification or Academic Background Required High school graduate or GED preferred Good oral communication skills Professional and reliable Previous work experience demonstrating dependability Previous experience providing animal care (personal or job related) Self-motivated, independent worker Proven ability to follow instructions and learn new things Ability to work in a team environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Other Characteristics Technical:
Basic computer skills, dog handling skills Confidence handling animals Emotional intelligence Compassion for animals Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Behavioral:
Motivated, ability to delegate, organized, ability to multi-task, problem solve, have the ability to communicate orally with a broad range of individuals, able to follow directions given by superiors. Must have a reliable phone. Must have reliable transportation.
Physical:
ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, able to move freely about the facility without assistance
Pay:
$10.00 - $15.00 per hour
