Qualifications:

Professional Certification :
Completion of CCPDT or an equivalent professional dog trainer certification 2.
Experience :
Hands-on experience working with and handling dogs. Proficiency in safely managing dogs and maintaining them below their emotional threshold. Familiarity with addressing reactivity, anxiety, and impulse control issues. 3.
Training Philosophy :
Adherence to LIMA principles (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive). Strong knowledge of canine behavior and force-free training methods. Understanding of behavioral learning theory. 4.
Interpersonal Skills :
Ability to teach assistants and clients with respect, honesty, and mindfulness.
Requirements & Skills:
Legal & Administrative Authorization to work in the United States. Signed employment agreement, non-compete, and non-disclosure agreements. Pass a criminal background check.
Professional Expectations :
Punctuality and professionalism, including appropriate attire (long pants and closed-toe, comfortable shoes). Reliable transportation to work sites.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Physically capable of working with energetic puppies and dogs of varying sizes. Ability to walk with a pack of dogs for at least two hours.
Technology Skills :
Proficient in using smartphones for texting, photography, video recording, and social media posting (e.g., Instagram, Facebook). Competent in managing calendars, appointments, and work schedules.
Safety Guidelines:
Ensure a safe environment for all dogs in your care. Never leave dogs unattended. Use sound judgment when interacting with dogs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Training & Client Management :
Evaluate, develop, and manage individualized client training plans. Schedule, meet, and follow up with clients. Oversee pop-up session bookings, client progress, and communication. Maintain detailed client accounts, notes, and recommendations.
Program Implementation :
Implement school training programs for students. Assist with the setup and breakdown of training equipment. Conduct inventory checks for equipment, sanitation, and vehicle readiness.
Dog Handling & Training :
Properly fit collars and leashes. Teach on-leash walking and socialization skills. Instruct clients and their dogs in basic, intermediate, and advanced training techniques. Teach American Kennel Club (AKC) certification curricula.
Content Creation :
Take photos and videos for documentation and social media.
Client Support :
Transport dogs as needed (may require use of a personal vehicle). Lead and assist clients in mastering skills taught in training sessions. Facilitate group classes and workshops. Manage client-dog groups, including progress reports and communication updates.
