We're a boutique daycare and grooming for small dogs under 30 lbs. Sunshine was born from a simple belief: small dogs deserve a space designed just for them. About the
Role:
As a Daycare Caretaker, you are the heart of our operation. You'll spend your days supervising playgroups, keeping our space clean and safe, and making sure every dog in our care feels comfortable and loved. This is a hands-on, active role that requires someone who is observant, calm, and genuinely passionate about animal well-being. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Dog Care Supervise small dog playgroups throughout the day, ensuring safe and positive interactions between dogs Monitor each dog's behavior, energy levels, and overall health, reporting any concerns to the lead or manager promptly Recognize signs of stress, illness, or conflict and respond calmly and appropriately Facilitate enrichment and play activities to keep dogs mentally and physically stimulated Administer medications or follow special care instructions when required by a dog's owner Facility & Cleanliness Maintain a clean, sanitary environment by regularly disinfecting play areas, floors, crates, and common spaces throughout the day, not just at the end of shifts Clean up accidents promptly and thoroughly Restock supplies and flag any equipment or facility issues to management Customer Communication Greet pet parents warmly at drop-off and pick-up Take photos and videos of dogs to share with dog owners Provide brief, friendly updates to owners about how their dog's day went Escalate any health or behavioral concerns to management before a dog is picked up Additional responsibilities may apply. What We're Looking For A genuine love for dogs Minimum 1 year of professional experience caring for dogs in a daycare, boarding, veterinary, or similar setting Ability to read dog body language and respond calmly in group settings Physically able to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs Reliable, punctual, and consistent A team player who communicates well and stays cool under pressure
Schedule Mon-Fri Morning:
6:45am - 2:45pm
Location Mission Bay:
1200 4th St Suite F, San Francisco, CA 9 minute walk from Caltrain San Francisco station Compensation & Benefits $21.50 to $23.00/hour, based on experience Paid sick leave Public transit reimbursement Training and professional development opportunities Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
