As a Clubhouse Pack Handler at Westside Dog Gang , you're more than just a set of extra hands—you're part of the gang. You'll be responsible for keeping dogs safe, engaged, and well cared for throughout the day. You'll help manage group play, support with training sessions, communicate with clients, and assist in the daily operations of the space. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to the overall experience we provide for both dogs and their people.
Key Responsibilities:
Dog Handling & Pack Supervision Monitor dogs during daycare sessions to ensure safe, healthy play and prevent overstimulation or conflicts. Conduct regular outdoor potty breaks and walks. Serve and log meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) per dog's individual diet plan. Practice and reinforce basic training cues during short, structured sessions per day. Observe dog behavior and document health, temperament, and changes. Evaluations & Training Assist with and conduct dog initiations to determine suitability for group daycare (temperament tests). Take detailed notes on dog behavior and relay evaluation results to the team and clients. Participate in ongoing enrichment activities and contribute ideas for improving playgroups and training plans. Client Experience Greet and check in/out dogs using our booking system. Communicate clearly and warmly with dog parents, answering questions and offering daily updates. Upsell retail items and daycare packages with confidence and care. Schedule dog initiations and follow-up assessments. Promote our services through casual conversations and social media content. Facility Operations Perform opening and closing duties, which include deep cleaning, restocking, and preparing the facility for the next shift. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility (including waste cleanup, laundry, and sanitization). Help set up and break down for special events (pack parties, socials, classes). Assist with retail inventory, restocking, and POS transactions. Social Media & Brand Presence Capture photos and videos of the dogs for content on Instagram and TikTok. Follow brand guidelines and help brainstorm fun, relatable content ideas that reflect our values and community vibe.
Qualifications:
Prior experience with dog care, dog training, or working in a dog daycare/boarding facility preferred. Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Knowledge of dog body language and safe handling practices. Friendly, professional communication skills with both people and pets. Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Must be able to lift 40+ lbs, be on your feet for long periods, and work both indoors and outdoors in various weather. Tech-savvy and comfortable using scheduling and POS software. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evening events.
