An Animal Trainer trains animals to become familiar with human voices and contact, and to respond to commands. Trains dogs to assist people with disabilities. May train animals for a health, competition, or show. May train other animals such as horses, dolphins, and apes.

Minimum requirements:
Educational Background:
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
At least three years of experience in pet grooming. A combination of work experience and/or required credentials in the field they will be teaching, preferred. Pet grooming certification, preferred. Passion for education with excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. In Florida, pet grooming does not require a state-issued license, but there are professional certifications: While neither profession requires a state license, the ideal candidate should have: NDGAA - National Dog Groomer Association of America -Pet grooming certification, preferred. Academic programs are available on a monthly basis. Must be computer literate in order to maintain and manage the course documents within the learning management system and also educational resources. Why Join Northbridge University?
