Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Dog Trainer - Assistant and play a vital role in shaping well-behaved, happy, and confident dogs! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with professional trainers, pet owners, and animals to promote positive training techniques. You'll gain hands-on experience in animal handling, training methods, and pet care while contributing to the well-being of our canine clients. If you're passionate about animals and eager to develop your skills in dog training and animal care, this role is perfect for you! Responsibilities Assist dog trainers in implementing training programs tailored to individual dogs' needs Handle dogs safely during training sessions, ensuring proper restraint and control Support with basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, come, and leash walking Help maintain a clean and organized training environment, including kennels and training areas Observe dogs' behavior closely, noting progress and any signs of stress or discomfort Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their dog's progress Assist with pet grooming, feeding, and general pet care duties as needed Requirements Prior experience in dog training or animal handling is highly preferred Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) safely during daily tasks Strong communication skills for engaging with clients and team members Passion for animals with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills Experience working with dogs in kennel environments or pet sitting is beneficial This paid position offers a rewarding environment where your love for animals can grow into a meaningful career.
