Part-time, Full-time Assistant Dog Trainer Location:
Watertown, MA Pay:
Starting at $18.00/hour with a pay increase after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. Tayls N Trails is looking for a motivated Assistant Dog Trainer to join our growing training team! This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some hands-on dog training experience and wants to continue learning while working with a variety of dogs every day. For the right person, this position has the potential to grow into a Lead Dog Trainer role. Schedule Tuesday through Friday Four 9.5-hour shifts each week One weekend day every other weekend, as needed Full-time What You'll Do Assist in our Dog Boot Camp program, working with dogs one-on-one and in small groups to build obedience, confidence, and good manners Help train dogs using positive, effective training methods Work with dogs on basic obedience, leash manners, behavior modification, and socialization Assist with agility exercises, confidence-building activities, and skill development Safely set dogs up on treadmills and closely monitor their sessions Take dogs on structured hikes to reinforce training, improve pack skills, and provide exercise Drive company vehicles when needed to transport dogs to and from hikes or other training activities (valid driver's license and clean driving record required) Handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Reinforce training plans created by the lead trainer and help track each dog's progress Keep training areas clean, organized, and safe Communicate with the lead trainer about each dog's progress Ensure every dog receives individualized attention and care What We're Looking For Previous dog training experience is required Strong dog handling skills and confidence working with a variety of breeds Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Patience, consistency, and a calm demeanor Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Able to work one weekend day every other weekend when needed Physically able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and stay active throughout the day Passion for helping dogs and their owners succeed Why Join Tayls N Trails?
