We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Long Term Puppy Sitter or Foster to join our team. In this role, you will offer a safe, nurturing environment for puppies requiring extended care, helping them grow into confident, well-behaved dogs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will make a meaningful difference in their lives while supporting their transition to loving forever homes. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals and develop valuable skills in pet care and training. Responsibilities Provide consistent, compassionate care for puppies over an extended period, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Engage in basic dog training techniques to promote good behavior and socialization skills. Administer routine veterinary care, including medication administration and health monitoring, in collaboration with veterinary professionals. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during feeding, grooming, or medical procedures. Maintain a clean, safe environment by cleaning bedding, feeding areas, and play spaces regularly. Communicate effectively with pet owners or coordinators regarding the puppies' progress, needs, and any concerns. Support outdoor activities such as walks or exercise sessions to promote healthy development and mental stimulation. Experience Prior experience with dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog training methods and animal behavior management is a strong plus. Experience working with veterinary teams or as a veterinary technician/assistant enhances your ability to provide quality care. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and administering medications ensures safety for both animals and caregivers. Hands-on experience with outdoor work, including walking dogs or supervising playtime in open spaces. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for supplies or equipment handling.
