Role:
Canine Wellness Center in Closter, NJ is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Dog Trainer to join our growing team! This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about dogs and interested in building a career in dog training. You'll work alongside our professional trainers while helping care for dogs in our structured Day School program and learning positive, reward-based training techniques.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the daily care and supervision of dogs in our Day School Support trainers during training sessions and enrichment activities Help facilitate small playgroups, walks, and structured learning exercises Monitor dog behavior and ensure a safe environment Maintain a clean and organized facility Learn and apply positive reinforcement training methods
Requirements:
Passion for dogs and interest in pursuing a career in dog training Reliable, punctual, and responsible Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Previous animal care experience is a plus, but not required
Compensation:
Starting pay varies based on experience, with opportunities for growth.
