We are an established, busy dog daycare and boarding facility in Middlesex County, New Jersey, seeking an experienced, dependable Kennel / Dog Daycare Manager to oversee daily operations, staff, and the care of the dogs entrusted to us. This is a hands-on management position . We are looking for someone who can confidently lead a team while also stepping into the operation wherever needed. The right candidate is organized, reliable, proactive, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Supervise and provide direction to kennel and daycare staff Ensure employees follow facility procedures, cleaning protocols, feeding instructions, and safety standards Oversee daycare playgroups and maintain safe, appropriate dog-to-staff ratios Recognize canine body language and intervene appropriately when necessary Coordinate daily boarding, daycare, feeding, medication, cleaning, and activity schedules Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, stool, injuries, or signs of illness Communicate professionally with clients regarding their pets Handle employee questions, call-outs, scheduling issues, and day-to-day problems Delegate tasks and follow up to ensure they are completed properly Help train and coach new and existing employees Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility Document incidents and communicate important information to ownership Assist with dogs and facility duties when needed Help keep daily operations running efficiently without requiring constant supervision What We're Looking For Previous professional experience working with dogs is required Previous kennel, dog daycare, veterinary, grooming, or similar animal-care experience strongly preferred Previous supervisory or management experience preferred Strong understanding of canine behavior and body language Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a professional work environment Excellent attendance and punctuality Ability to multitask and remain calm when the facility is busy Good judgment and ability to solve problems independently Must be comfortable with the physical demands of kennel work, including standing, walking, bending, cleaning, and handling dogs Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed Who Will Succeed in This Position We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their shift . Starting Pay:
