Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional dog care in a lively, high-pace environment! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and enrichment of assigned daycare and overnight dogs while maintaining a clean and organized kennel facility. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with a variety of dogs, and develop your training/handling skills. Duties Provide daily care for dogs including feeding, watering, exercising, and playtime. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, exercise equipment and common areas. Handle dogs safely using proper restraint techniques and handling skills to ensure their safety. Assist with boarding and daycare dogs, including outdoor activities (field trips) to promote healthy exercise and socialization Monitor behavior for signs of stress or illness and communicate concerns to trainers. Ensure compliance with sanitization standards to uphold hygiene and safety protocols. Requirements Previous veterinary, shelter, daycare, training or boarding experience is highly desirable. Confident animal handling skills with knowledge of animal body language/behavior. Ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work comfortably throughout the day. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Basic cleaning and sanitation skills to maintain a safe environment for animals and staff. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards. This is an ACTIVE job requiring self-motivation and stamina for the entire shift. This position requires early mornings Monday through Thursday. There is opportunity for the right employee to eventually move into a dog trainer position after significant hands on training.
