Flash Dog Training is seeking a Full Time Assistant Trainer for our Redmond, Oregon location. We are a dog training facility that works with all types of breeds and behavioral issues. Some dogs are happy-go-lucky puppies, while others in our care have a bite history or are struggling with extreme fear, anxiety and reactivity. This is NOT a doggie daycare environment. We are often the last chance for dogs in our program before being rehomed or euthanized. If you want to hug and kiss dogs all day, this job is not for you. If you want to be a part of positively changing the lives of dogs so they can gain confidence and be successful in their homes and our community, please keep reading! We are balanced trainers, that means we use positive reinforcement and appropriately timed corrections. We specialize in off-leash training using E collars and we show owners how this life-saving tool can build their dog's confidence and provide them fulfillment and freedom. This is a high-performance role inside a fast paced, no-excuses environment. We are looking for someone who can move with urgency all day, stay organized with dog training tasks and maintain a high level of cleanliness and professionalism at all times. You will be working dogs daily, helping maintain the facility and representing the brand in real world environments.
Duties include:
cleaning kennels, poop scooping, monitoring play groups, walking dogs, training dogs, cleaning grounds, taking out trash, laundry, bathing dogs, feeding dogs, brushing dogs, doing dishes, assisting trainers with daily training exercises, etc. There is tons of growth potential within this company. If you are looking to become professional trainer, this is where you start! Working with live animals requires dedication. Candidate must be available to work weekends, holidays and have reliable transportation. Some type of dog handling experience is required: Kennel, vet assistant, daycare, grooming etc.
