In-Home Dog Trainer / Canine Behavior Coach - North-Central New Jersey Sam Ivy K9 Consultants Inc. - Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, and Middlesex Counties, NJ About the Role With over 1,000 5-star Google reviews, Team SamIvy is the highest-rated dog training company in the U.S. For more than 15 years, we've solved tough cases like aggression, reactivity, and separation anxiety with our proven, proprietary training system. What sets us apart is that we don't just train dogs. We coach owners to train their own dogs, so the results last for life. We're expanding our in-home training team in the North-Central New Jersey area and are hiring full-time trainers who live locally. You'll work with clients and their dogs in their homes, and you'll support clients through live online sessions as well. If you already have hands-on dog experience and want to build a real career with an established company that handles all the marketing, scheduling, and sales for you, this role is for you. What You'll Do Train dogs and coach their owners in the client's home, following our structured training program Run coaching sessions remotely via Zoom Follow our proprietary system step by step, so every client gets consistent results Give clear direction and keep clients accountable week by week Listen with empathy and problem-solve when challenges come up Document client progress in our CRM Work closely with our team to ensure every client succeeds Schedule Full-time, 30 to 40 hours per week Flexible hours, built around client appointments Evening and weekend availability is required, since that's when most clients are home What We're Looking For Professional dog training experience, or at a minimum hands-on experience in a dog-related field (vet tech, kennel, daycare, grooming, shelter, or rescue work) Comfortable and confident handling dogs with behavior problems, including reactive and aggressive dogs Excellent communication and people skills. You're coaching the owner as much as the dog Deep empathy and patience when clients struggle Confident and assertive without being pushy Organized and reliable with time management Coachable and adaptable. Even experienced trainers will be trained in our method and are expected to follow it Fluent in Spanish and English is a strong plus Requirements You live in the North-Central New Jersey area and can drive to clients throughout Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, and Middlesex Counties Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance Comfortable working in clients' homes Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional space for remote sessions Evening and weekend availability Background checks will be conducted. We are a second-chance employer and review each case individually What We Offer $20 to $24 per hour, based on experience Paid drive time between clients Mileage reimbursement Comprehensive training in our method Paid time off Flexible schedule A full client calendar.
