Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kennel worker, Dog Handler where your passion for animals and dedication to their care will shine! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for working with the team to maintain daily kennel operations, training dogs in obedience and behavior as guided, and providing exceptional care to the animals. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure that every animal receives the highest standard of care in a safe, clean, and loving environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals while contributing to their well-being and happiness. Duties Handle and work with dogs of various breeds and sizes with confidence, ensuring safe animal handling at all times Assist in training dogs using only positive reinforcement techniques to improve obedience, and behavior under supervision of the kennel training manager Maintain cleanliness of kennels, and common areas of dogs, through regular sanitization and cleaning routines Provide pets with a daily routine of feeding, walking, and outdoor exercise (rain or shine) Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds Qualifications Prior dog training using positive reinforcement methods is a plus Strong interest in animal health and well-being is essential Experience in dog training, kennel operations, or animal care facilities is highly desirable Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor Skilled in cleaning, sanitization, and maintaining a hygienic environment within the kennel is highly desirable Friendly attitude towards the dogs and co-workers is a must Capable of heavy lifting and physical activity necessary for kennel maintenance and outdoor exercise routines Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is a plus This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive working with animals in a fast-paced environment. Your dedication will directly impact the comfort, safety, and happiness of the dogs in our kennel! We would prefer this to be a salaried position with a 50 hour per week work expectancy. Pay will be based on the experience level of the applicant.
