In this role, you'll engage with a variety of pets, ensuring their well-being through attentive handling, exercise, and enrichment. Responsibilities Provide compassionate pet sitting, dog walking, and overnight in-home care to ensure animals are comfortable, safe, and engaged. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during grooming, feeding, or medical procedures. Assist with training activities such as dog training exercises and behavioral reinforcement to promote good habits. Support veterinary teams with tasks like animal handling, veterinary technician assistance, or basic animal care routines. Maintain outdoor work responsibilities including pet exercise, outdoor play sessions, and yard clean-up to promote healthy activity. Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs, behaviors, and daily activities to build trust and rapport. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport supplies or assist with animal mobility needs. Requirements Prior experience in animal handling, pet sitting, or dog walking is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior principles is a plus. Experience working with veterinary professionals as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous. Familiarity with equine care or outdoor work environments is beneficial. Ability to handle multiple pets safely while demonstrating patience and attentiveness. Strong communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, outdoor activities, and long periods of standing or walking.
