Job Description

Charming Paws is a locally owned small business looking for reliable, caring and hardworking Canine Caregivers to join our West Bend team. Professional dog experience is wonderful, but it is not required. We can teach you dog behavior, body language, safe handling, group management, enrichment and the skills needed to confidently care for the dogs entrusted to us. What's harder to teach? Kindness, reliability, accountability and being the kind of coworker others can count on. That's what we're really looking for. Send in your resume or apply online: charmingpawsllc.com/careers Why Charming Paws? You'll receive real education and training.

There's a lot more to working with dogs than playing with puppies all day. Although, yes, there is definitely some of that! We provide training and education to help our employees understand dog behavior, communication and safe care. You'll be part of a team that cares about each other.

We have an amazing group of women who work hard, help each other and genuinely want the best for their teammates. We want to continue building a workplace where people feel supported and where everyone does their part. There's room to grow.

Interested in learning more? Cross training and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities are available. We have three locations.

Our West Bend location is currently hiring, but team members interested in additional hours may also have opportunities to work at our Grafton and Richfield locations. Part time or looking for more?

We have opportunities for both! Whether you're looking for a couple of consistent days each week or something closer to full time, we'd love to talk. What We're Looking For You don't need to come to us knowing everything about dogs. We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and arrives ready to work Is kind, patient and comfortable around dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities Is willing to learn about canine behavior and body language Works well as part of a team Communicates well with coworkers and management Understands that caring for animals is fun, but also a responsibility Is comfortable with an active, hands-on job Doesn't mind a little slobber, barking or going home wearing enough dog hair to make another dog Availability Applicants must be available: At least 2 days per week At least 2 weekends per month High school students are welcome to apply as long as you have reliable transportation and can arrive at work by 3:00 PM on scheduled weekdays. Additional hours may be available for applicants looking for a more full-time schedule. What Does a Canine Caregiver Do? Our caregivers help provide safe, individualized care for the dogs who spend their days and overnight stays with us. Depending on your shift and training, responsibilities may include: Supervising and engaging with dogs in daycare Providing one-on-one care and enrichment Feeding and caring for boarding guests Monitoring canine behavior and communicating changes or concerns Cleaning and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment Following established care, safety and sanitation procedures Working together with your team to make sure every dog receives the care they deserve This job can be incredibly fun and rewarding. It's also active, sometimes messy and requires people who understand that dogs depend on us whether it's a Monday morning, Saturday afternoon or holiday weekend. At Charming Paws, we take the responsibility of caring for someone's family member seriously. We can teach you the dogs. If you bring the compassion, reliability, work ethic and willingness to learn, we'd love to teach you the rest.
