Job Summary AKRO Salon is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Salon Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in hair styling, haircut, coloring, and client care in a supportive and creative environment. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in cosmetology, a good eye for cleanliness and organization, and a genuine passion for making clients feel great. As an important part of our team, you'll support daily salon operations, assist with hair services, and help create a warm and elevated experience for every guest. We offer weekly hair classes in both haircutting and coloring to help you grow into a stylist. Since we specialize in both, assistants can choose to focus on either cut or color depending on their interests and career goals, while building strong fundamentals and improving their skills. You'll also have the chance to learn directly from Hiro (@hirohair) for haircutting and Meg (@megumicolor) for color. Pay:

from $17 per hour + Tips Free Monthly Parking Retail sales commission The salon is open for training and practice use. CA cosmetology license required Responsibilities Assist stylists with shampooing, blow-drying, color prep, application, and finishing. Manage front desk duties such as client check-in/out, appointment scheduling via salon software BLVD, and retail sales. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs, offering product recommendations, and upselling retail items. Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with industry regulations. Support store management with inventory control and retail product displays. Mentor new team members and contribute to a positive salon atmosphere through effective communication skills. Hair Travel to other cities.(NYC , San Francisco) Experience Prior experience in hair styling, coloring, is preferred BUT always passionate new graduate welcome. Knowledge of color theory, sanitation procedures, and hair styling techniques. Experience with retail sales, upselling techniques, and retail math enhances success in this role. Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor others are highly valued.
