The Opportunity:
We are searching for a confident, patient and inspiring "Cosmetology Educator" who is passionate about teaching students theory, practical and technical skills in the instruction of hair cutting, styling, advanced coloring, hair extensions (a plus!), chemical processes and perms, make-up application, and nail care (mani/pedi). You will be involved with administration and management for creating curriculum, evaluation and assessment of student progress as well as mentoring and motivating students in all areas of cosmetology. This is a vital role at Stacey James Institute! You will receive educator training and support to help you succeed in the classroom. You will have the opportunity to continue working behind the chair part-time or on your own schedule for supplemental income. We are a collaborative and upbeat team that values integrity, structure and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties include but are not limited to: Develop and implement cosmetology curriculum according to state guidelines. Design and teach cosmetology courses including hair care, styling/cutting, skin care, make-up and nail care. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, evaluations and progress through their learning journey. Instruct students in theory, practical and technical applications to prepare them for state licensure and real-world success. Inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential and prepare for their careers in the cosmetology industry. Remain up-to-date on current trends, products and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Colorado Cosmetology License required and in good standing . Minimum of 2 years licensed industry experience in a salon or similar setting required. A passion for teaching and mentoring others•even if you've never taught before. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professionalism, accountability, and commitment to student growth.
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting pay is $23.00•$25.00 per hour DOE. First performance review after 6 months with the potential for pay adjustments based on performance. 401(k)) and 401(k) matching. Health, Dental and Vision Insurance. Kaiser Gold plan and Stacey James Institute will pay half of our employee's premium as our contribution! Paid Time Off.
