LICENSED HAIR STYLIST

Salon Melisa Hair Studio is an independently owned, multicultural salon in Lutz. We are looking for a licensed hair stylist who is dependable, cares about their clients, and works well with a team. Our salon serves clients with many different hair types and textures. Our services include blowouts, color, cuts, keratin treatments, silk presses, roller sets, highlights, extensions, and more. You do not need to arrive with a full clientele. Salon Melisa invests in online booking, Google, social media, referrals, and local marketing to bring new guests into the salon. Your talent, consistency, and client care help turn those opportunities into loyal repeat clients. This is a full-time W-2 commission position. Service commission is based on verified experience and technical ability, with rates up to 60%. Stylists keep 100% of their tips and can also earn additional commission from retail products and add-on services. Current established Salon Melisa stylists are earning approximately $90,000 to $100,000 a year, including tips. That level is not guaranteed when starting. It reflects experience, productivity, and an established repeat clientele, but it demonstrates what is possible here. The schedule is generally 32 to 40 hours across 4 to 5 days. Friday and Saturday availability is required, with approximately one rotating Sunday per month. The salon closes by 7:00 p.m. An active Florida cosmetology license is required. Recent salon experience is preferred. Talented recent graduates with hair-focused training, a good attitude, and recent work samples may also be considered. Spanish is helpful, but not required.
