[Part-time / 17-20$/hr based on experience] About the Position I am a busy Master Hair Stylist looking for a motivated, dependable, detail-oriented Hair Stylist Assistant to work alongside me and help provide an exceptional experience for my clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about the beauty industry, enjoys working in a fast-paced salon environment, and wants to learn from an experienced stylist. The right person will be professional, hardworking, organized, personable, eager to learn, and comfortable taking initiative. The assistant will help keep my day running smoothly by supporting me before, during, and after appointments while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for clients. Responsibilities Client Experience

• Greet clients warmly and provide excellent customer service
• Offer clients water, coffee, or other salon amenities
• Assist clients with coats and personal belongings
• Escort clients to and from the shampoo area and stylist station
• Help create a comfortable, professional, and welcoming experience
• Communicate professionally with clients and maintain confidentiality Shampoo & Hair Care
• Shampoo and condition clients according to the stylist's instructions
• Apply conditioning treatments, masks, and other approved hair treatments
• Perform scalp massages when appropriate and trained
• Thoroughly rinse and prepare hair for the stylist's next service
• Assist with blow-drying or rough-drying when trained and permitted Color & Service Assistance
• Prepare color bowls, brushes, foils, gloves, towels, and other supplies
• Assist with sectioning and foiling when trained and legally permitted
• Assist with color application or other chemical services only as permitted by applicable licensing laws and under the stylist's direction
• Monitor processing times and communicate with the stylist
• Assist with shampooing/rinsing color services
• Maintain an organized and clean color area
• Clean and sanitize color tools and equipment Styling Assistance
• Assist with sectioning and preparing hair
• Rough-dry or blow-dry hair when trained
• Assist with styling preparation
• Help prepare tools and products needed for the stylist's services
• Learn and follow the stylist's preferred techniques and workflow Salon Organization & Cleaning
• Keep the stylist's station clean and organized throughout the day
• Sweep and maintain the salon floor
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
• Keep the shampoo area clean and stocked
• Wash, fold, and organize towels and capes
• Take out trash when needed
• Restock shampoo, conditioner, styling products, foils, gloves, color supplies, and other inventory
• Maintain an organized back-bar and supply area
• Prepare the station and supplies before appointments Stylist Support
• Anticipate the stylist's needs throughout the day
• Prepare everything needed for upcoming appointments
• Help keep appointments running on schedule
• Assist with photographing finished work for social media/portfolio purposes when requested
• Help organize products and inventory
• Assist with retail organization and product presentation

Cosmetology school experience, a cosmetology license, or experience assisting a stylist is a plus. What You Can Expect You will work closely with an experienced Master Hair Stylist and gain hands-on exposure to professional salon operations, client care, hair services, color services, styling techniques, and the business side of working behind the chair. This position is ideal for someone who wants to learn, develop their skills, and grow within the salon industry, while providing valuable support to an established stylist.
