Pay:

$10-$22+ per hour based on experience and career level, plus service commission and retail bonus opportunities Somer's Salon & Spa is looking for a hairstylist who wants consistency, guidance and a clear path for professional growth. We are an established, elevated but welcoming salon serving Elmwood, Harahan, River Ridge, Metairie and Kenner and surrounding areas. Our salon provides ongoing marketing and new-guest opportunities, but we are looking for someone who will also take ownership of building strong client relationships, rebooking and retaining guests. This position may be a good fit for an experienced stylist with some clientele who is ready for a new environment, or a newer stylist who is coachable and wants structured education and mentorship. What We Offer Hourly pay plus service commission Retail bonus opportunities Clear career-level and advancement structure Continuing education and coaching Marketing and new-guest support Established salon systems and guest-experience standards Eligibility-based paid time off Modern, fully equipped salon Full-time or Part-time schedule with room to grow based on demand and performance Responsibilities Provide haircuts, color, highlighting, styling and other services within your skill level Conduct thorough consultations and recommend services based on each guest's needs Educate guests about maintenance and appropriate home care Recommend and reserve future appointments Maintain accurate guest notes and service records Follow salon sanitation, opening, closing and guest-experience standards Participate in coaching, education and performance reviews Contribute to salon-approved marketing and content during scheduled working time Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming salon Qualifications Current Louisiana cosmetology license or other Louisiana license appropriate for the services performed Strong communication and guest-service skills Pleasant, dependable and professional Willingness to receive feedback and follow established systems Commitment to rebooking, retention and continued growth Some evening and Saturday availability Existing clientele is helpful but not required Recent graduates may be considered for our structured Associate Program The position will begin with strategically scheduled part-time hours. Additional hours are earned as demand, productivity, rebooking and clientele grow.
