Overview We are urgently seeking a talented and passionate Licensed Hair Stylist to join our team at our hair salon. This is a woman-owned small business located in Murray Hill, Manhattan. The ideal candidate is skilled in providing a range of professional hair services, including washing, coloring, blow-drying, and styling. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential. We are seeking a part-time or full-time stylist who is motivated, creative, and dedicated to delivering a great salon experience for our clients. We believe in empowering our stylists to grow their skills and build lasting relationships with clients, all while working in a lively, supportive atmosphere. This is a commission-based job. Responsibilities Perform a variety of hair services, including cutting, styling, coloring, updos, and hair extensions, to meet clients' unique preferences. Use advanced techniques such as balayage, highlights, and color theory to achieve desired looks. Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with state cosmetology regulations. Provide personalized consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable hair care products or treatments. Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance the client experience and increase salon revenue. Requirements Valid state cosmetology or barbering license with active certification as a Hair Stylist. Proven experience working in the beauty industry with strong skills in hair styling, coloring, and hair care. Proficiency in sanitation practices, ensuring a safe environment for clients and staff. Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse clients and understanding their aesthetic goals. Ability to perform specialized hair services Familiarity with store management principles to contribute effectively within the team setting.
