The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hair cutting and styling techniques, with an eye for detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Barber, you will create a welcoming environment for clients while delivering high-quality grooming services that enhance their appearance and confidence. Working as a Hairstylist/Barber your responsibilities will include cutting, trimming, and styling client's hair according to their instructions, fitting and grooming hairpieces and settling payments. You should also be able to provide hairstyle suggestions and general advice to clients. Suitable Barbers should be able to provide quality facial hair grooming services to clients. Ultimately, a great Hairstylists/Barbers should keep abreast of new and emerging hairstyles and trends in order to allow The Local Shoppe to provide the highest quality of service within the greater Charleston area. Pay is a commission based on percentage of the cost per service. Commission base rate is offered depending upon the applying Hairstylist/Barber's skill set and years of experience. Any additional pay includes Tips from clients, as well as regular bonus incentives.

Duties Perform haircuts, shaves, and beard trims with precision and care. Utilize hair threading techniques to achieve desired styles. Apply hair color using knowledge of color theory to ensure client satisfaction. Provide hair styling services tailored to individual client preferences. Assist clients with makeup application as needed, enhancing their overall look. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and tools. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Utilize salon software for appointment scheduling and client management. Upsell products and services to enhance the client experience and boost salon revenue. Stay updated on the latest trends in hairstyling, hair extensions, and grooming techniques. Qualifications Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state regulations. Proficiency in hair cutting, styling, and grooming techniques. Knowledge of hair extensions application methods is a plus. Familiarity with salon software systems for efficient operations. Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients. Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a positive client experience. Understanding of retail math principles to assist in inventory management.
