Job Description
As a Beautician, you will provide beauty services to individuals receiving services, which may include: Providing beauty services to individuals, including hair, nail and/or skin care services. Determining the desired hair style based on the individuals' instructions, prescribed style standards, hair type and/or facial features. Combing and brushing hair using detangling and styling tools. Shampooing, rinsing and conditioning hair with water, liquid hair products and other solutions. In addition, using towels and hair dryers to dry the hair and scalp. Assessing hair styles and types to determine what care is necessary to ensure health and growth. Shaves, trims, shapes and/or removes facial hair, such as mustaches, beards and eyebrows, using tweezers, razors and other relevant solutions. May apply lotions, serums and powders to the face, neck and hair to prepare, cleanse and condition individuals' skin and scalp. Applies water, setting, straightening or waving solutions. Uses curlers, rollers, hot combs, straighteners or curling irons to set, straighten and curl hair. Sterilizes and cleans beauty instruments and tools; and may sharpen, lubricate and make minor repairs to ensure proper maintenance. Monitors supply levels, and orders and stocks beauty supplies. Dusts and cleans work areas, which will include sweeping and disposing of hair clippings and other garbage. Remain current on all mandated and applicable specialized trainings. All other duties as assigned.
