POSITION OVERVIEW
The Wardrobe Attendant provides hands-on assistance with costumes to performers in their dressing rooms and/or backstage for
MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS.
Wardrobe Attendants may also be asked to act as stitchers in the costume shop or in another costume-related capacity as determined by the Head of Wardrobe and are responsible for the care and maintenance of finished costumes used in the production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and remains focused in a fast-paced, ever-changing working environment, with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor when working backstage with performers and fellow crew members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SHOW EXECUTION
Review costumes prior to each performance. Assist with costume load-in, strike, and dressing as assigned. Assist performers with dressing and quick changes. Ensure proper placement of costume pieces prior to each show. Perform pre-show setup and post-show clean-up.
WARDROBE SUPPORT OPERATIONS
Attend dress rehearsals as needed. Create and keep all dressing track notes up to date when requested. Work during dark weeks as needed. Remain flexible with show lineups and changes.
MAINTENANCE & COSTUME CARE
Maintain show costumes, including laundry and repair. Perform wardrobe repairs and other maintenance duties during show call. Perform emergency costume repairs as necessary. Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and participate in the upkeep, cleanliness, and organization of storage areas.
DEPARTMENT COLLABORATION
Complete any other tasks as requested by Wardrobe Assistant, Head of Wardrobe, and/or the Stage Management Team/Company Management. Must be able to troubleshoot and communicate problems quickly and effectively.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Must be comfortable working in an environment with prolonged loud noise/music and dimmed lighting conditions. Job requires the ability to sit/stand for long periods, and bend, stoop, or kneel in execution of duties as assigned. Job requires the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment (up to 50+ lbs) up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS 2-4
years of theatrical run crew experience required. Detail-oriented with the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor when working backstage with performers and crew. Ability to troubleshoot and communicate problems quickly and effectively. Ability to sit/stand for long periods and bend, stoop, or kneel as needed. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50+ pounds up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions. Flexibility to work dark weeks and adapt to changing show lineups.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working on Las Vegas or other resident productions. Previous dressing experience preferred. Experience working as a stitcher or within a costume shop environment a plus
